State-of-the-art Ultrasound Machine
This project is just a part of Elias Hospital: Equipment and Infrastructure
Elias Emergency Hospital is one of the largest hospitals in Bucharest, with more than 900 beds and a large variety of medical specialties. Every year, the staff there treats more than 35,000 patients. At Dăruiește Viață, we started working with EEH in 2015, by renovating the adult oncology department (in two stages), then continued by building Elias Modular Hospital No. 1 and Elias Modular Tr...
Read moreDăruiește Viață has purchased a new ultrasound machine for the ICU of Elias Emergency Hospital, in order to improve the treatment of critical patients and optimize medical procedures.
The machine can be used to:
- guide invasive procedures (e.g. spinal taps, thoracenteses, etc.);
- evaluate the cardiac and hemodynamic function;
- monitor pulmonary edema and evaluate the lungs;
- diagnose the patients without moving them to other departments.
What our investment brings
The ICU is one of the busiest departments of the hospital, treating approx. 1,500-2,000 patients per year, with various pathologies, like cardiac and respiratory failure, trauma or multiple organ failure.
The new ultrasound machine ensures:
- shorter hospitalizations, through quick diagnoses;
- fewer complications of the invasive procedures;
- less discomfort for the patients during medical procedures;
- continuous monitoring of critical patients;
- lower morbidity and mortality in the ICU
A medical team made out of 14 ICU doctors, 80 residents and 30 nurses will benefit from the new equipment, for shorter procedures, improved precision and a smaller risk of infection.
Investment: approx. EUR 70,000
