COUNSELING / You have rights!

How to get treated abroad:

1. By using the S2 Form (previously known as E 112, for medical services that are included in the base package of NHIF)

2. By using funds from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labor, for medical services that are not included in the base package (such as a transplant)

Conditions for being able to use the S2 (E112) form:

a. the clinic that will provide the treatment must have a valid contract with the National Health Insurance Fund of that particular country

b. the clinic must be located in an EU-member country

c. the treatment must consist of one of the medical services included in the basic service package offered to policyholders in the Romanian social health insurance system

If any of the above conditions (a, b, or c) are not met, one can request treatment abroad using funds from the Ministry of Health (Order No. 1011 of 2011).
